Getting Dirty in 2019

Following successful road rides in 2013, 2015 and 2017 TourXOz is getting dirty! Taking the ride to the Tip of Australia we will travel some of the most tropical parts of the country, on a mixture of dirt, sand and up the most famous 4 x 4 track – The Telegraph Track.

The ride will take 50 riders to the Tip and into the Torres Strait Islands, engaging with Indigenous communities along the way, there is an opportunity to learn about life in the Cape and understand how to support people who are challenged with mental health illnesses. In conjunction with the Black Dog Institute we will undertake the next stage in research that was started in 2017 that proved exercise is effective mood management therapy.

In 2019 we are aiming to raise $350,000 for the Black Dog Institute to target programs to help the most challenging illnesses

We'd like to thank our naming sponsor...

“One of Versent’s core values is to reciprocate. We aim to give back to our community as much as we can. Mental illness doesn’t discriminate. It affects so many Australians. These issues have touched a lot of us, so supporting this cause feels like a natural extension of our commitment to our values and culture.

That is why we are so passionate about supporting TourXOz and the Black Dog Institute again this year to help raise awareness and much needed funds.

Supporting this great cause also gives us the ability to send a small group of our Versent family along on the ride, which is in itself will be both a reward and unique challenge. We are incredibly proud to be participating in the ride and we wish all of the cyclists the best of luck on their journey.”
